It’s Friday so it’s time for another short interview with one of our users who passed the 100 photos in 100 days milestone.
This time, we’re interviewing Kamil Grzegorczyk. Living in Vienna. Never missed a day and continues to amaze the community with beautiful architecture shots. Here’s what he has to say about his project.
Why did you decide to take part in 365 challenge?
To test myself. To push myself out of the comfort zone. To help develop creativity. I was not having problems (hopefully) making “nice pictures” when I got time, I was on a trip etc. I wanted to be able to produce something worth looking even at my worst day, to break my habits, get out of the bubble.
This is not only one daily (or very systematic) project I am participating in. I found everyday repetitions as a key to achieving progress in various life areas. 365 photo a day seems as a logical continuation.
What camera you use and why?
I use full frame Nikon D750. It is one of the best semi pro cameras out on the market. It has incredibly high dynamic range, perfect Autofocus and great, great noise level. Many of my night pictures I did while getting back from work at ISO 5000 shooting from hand.
What was the biggest challenge within those 100 days?
Time. Actually lack of it. Fitting tookapic into my schedule was very hard task. I would like to thank my Wife and Daughter for understanding and supporting me in this process ;)
How did you feel while uploading your 100th photo?
Happy but having plenty of doubts. Should I continue? Are my pictures good enough? I am perfectionist and I hate many of my pictures here. Many days i would not upload anything because it is not good enough etc.
What has changed in your photography within these 100 days?
Much more confidence in low light situations, better Lightroom workflow, better topic planning. Unfortunately I also developed bad habit of doing “something” in half a minute just to make it – “anyway I will produce it in Lightroom”.
What do you want to achieve by completing 365 project?
Get more self confidence, develop better photography and post-processing skills. Prove something to myself. Be able to reflect the scene on photo the way I not only see it but also the way I feel it. Be better in showing colors, distance, shapes, texture and Most important – the atmosphere.
Do you have any advice for our new users?
Just do it. Whatever it is. Just start and don’t stop.
